Education CS Ezekiel Machogu on Thursday, November 23, released results of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) national examination,
The CS announced that the top student in the 2023 KCPE exam scored 428 marks. This a 3-mark drop the class of 2022 where the top candidate scored 431 marks.
In total, 8,525 candidates had over 400 marks, while 352,782 had between 300 and 399 marks. The majority of students scored between 200 and 299 marks (658,278), while another 383,025 candidates scored between 100 and 199 marks. There were 2,060 candidates who scored below 100 marks.
A total of 1,415,315 candidates were enrolled for the KCPE examinations. This marks the final announcement of results under the 8-4-4 system for primary education, as the curriculum has been successfully replaced with the competency-based approach.

While on the portal, navigate to the KNEC section and choose the year in which the KCPE candidate took the exams, 2023 in this case.
Input the index number, submit, and the results will be displayed. It's important to have internet access while using the portal, including print the results.
In addition to these options, interested parties can also obtain the results from county offices or the respective schools. However, it's worth noting that these latter methods may take a longer time compared to utilizing the digital channels.
